Devices

The Logger360 system is a toolkit for supply chain and assets monitoring of sensitive goods during any phases of transport or storage. The Logger360 toolkit has a number of components including 2 main types of devices, data logger devices that act like trackers and record independently, wirelessly, and silently, their surrounding events and parameters, and beacon devices that are stand-alone beacon devices used to mark a significant Area (such as warehouses or stores), or staff (using wearable beacons) or even be mounted on equipment to record interactions.

DATA LOGGERS

The small and wireless data logging trackers record independently (no need for any connection) and silently, their surrounding events and parameters:

  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • Movements (move, drop, tilt, shake, kick)
  • Areas (stand-alone beacon devices mark significant locations such as warehouses or stores)
  • Staff or Equipment (wearable beacons which can be used by staff or mounted on equipment to record interactions)

Characteristics:

  • Battery 4-12 months (depends on number of operations)
  • Temperature range -40°C to +85°C
  • Weights less than 10g
  • Waterproof
  • Accessible distance up to 50m (BLE 5 - in ideal conditions, may vary)
  • NFC support (optional)
  • Fully encrypted, permission management available

BEACONS

We provide Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices and beacons which work together with the data logger trackers. The beacons serve a different prupose, but are compelementary and an intergral part of the Logger360 toolkit.

Beacons can be used to create designated Areas, which can indicate that goods tracked by the data logger have entered (or left) a significant locations such as warehouses or stores. Beacons can also be used for staff (wearables bracelets, lanyards, keyrings) or mounted on equipment, to record interactions, in order to indicate that goods tracked by the data logger have been handled by certain staff or equipment.

What is Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)?

Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE, colloquially BLE, formerly marketed as Bluetooth Smart) is a wireless personal area network technology aimed at novel applications in the healthcare, fitness, beacons, security, and home entertainment industries.

What is the difference between Classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)?

Compared to Classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy is intended to provide considerably reduced power consumption and cost while maintaining a similar communication range. Mobile operating systems including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry, as well as macOS, Linux, Windows 8 and Windows 10, natively support Bluetooth Low Energy.

Classic Bluetooth

  • Wireless devices streaming rich content like data, video and audio
  • Pairing required

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

  • Sensor devices sending small bits of data, using very little energy
  • Device pairing not required

LOGGER360 Mobile App

The Logger360 mobile App interacts with the data logger tracker devices and allows you to read the conditions of storage and transportation organized by metrics.

At any point of the transport or storage, for example after the goods are received, authorized users can use the App to check the data recorded by the the data loggers and download the reports, which will give you details about the storage and moving conditions i.e. if the temperature limits were exceeded, the humidity levels, if the goods were shaken or the box flipped, and when it happened (and where, if using our add-on location beacon device).
